Batukizer DJs

Bringing Brazilian dance music to the World.
In the last decade, the duo has shared Brazilian vinyl sets and forgotten genres worldwide

Having played in clubs and festivals on several continents from Oslo Jazz Festival to Nyege Nyege in Uganda and Rock The Mountain festival in Rio de Janeiro, the DJ sets are compromised of hand-picked, infectious dance tunes on vinyl from a vast collection representing Brazilian sounds from the past. Batukizer also records themed mixes for NTS Radio and Al Hara Radio.

The two DJs have made a significant contribution to the rediscoveries of amazing and forgotten Brazilian dance tunes through many series of mixtapes - a obsession to find grooves and rare dance records - musical treasures often not available on the streaming services.
On their quest of tracking down the forgotten rhythms and rarities, they highlight the incredible Brazilian musical heritage layered with emotions, percussion and regional culture.
This research has brought BTKZR on extensive digging trips through 15 Brazilian states including the Amazon, presenting killer grooves and big tunes to audiences worldwide.

The mixtapes and setlist are shared on musical channels such as The Vinyl Factory, NTS Radio, My Analog Journal, Discogs, Le Mellotron, Gouranga, Brazils Mareh Music and Tropicals, The Dream Chimney and Music for Dreams. An example is the ABOM mixtape series on Soundcloud that draws on spirituality and powerful Brazilian rhythms (batuque means percussion and hence the name Batukizer). In 2025 the total number of Youtube plays is well beyond 6 million plays.

With their DJ sets Batukizer brings the tunes and energy to match any electronic or groove based music lineup and has performed in electronic festivals, clubs and jazz festivals in France, Italy, India, Brazil, Germany, Spain, UK, Sweden, Romania, Norway, Slovenia, Switzerland, Uganda, Finland, Portugal, Tunisia, Belgium, Albani, Ukraine and the US. They’ve shared the stage with and supported Brazilian legends such as Jorge Ben, Azymuth, Marcos Valle, Mari Froes, Gilsons, Banda Black Rio, Céu, Majur, Jards Macalé and Latin Grammy winners Emicida and Liniker.
